2022 Topps Baseball Factory Set Checklist, Exclusives, Variations and Details
The 2022 Topps Baseball factory set is the easiest way to build a complete base set. Packaged together is a nice box, it has all 660 cards from the flagship Series 1 and Series 2 sets. Depending on the version that you get, there might be some exclusives as well.
They’re actually 663-card sets. Special variations of Julio Rodriguez, Bobby Witt Jr. and Spencer Torkelson were late additions to all sets. These cards are different from the Short Print Variations found in 2022 Topps Series 2. The approach is similar to Vladimir Guerrero Jr. in 2019, and Ronald Acuna Jr. and Gleyber Torres in 2018. Go back even further to 2012 and there’s Bryce Harper.
It’s not a complicated set up. It actually fixes that. The factory set means a full set without any of the legwork or extras that come with ripping packs and boxes.
2022 Topps Baseball Factory Set Breakdown
Hobby Factory Set
Besides the base cards, hobby versions of the box set come with five exclusive Foilboard parallels that aren’t available in packs. Each of these parallels has 390 copies.
Retail Factory Sets
Retail factory sets don’t come with the same parallels. Instead, it’s five exclusive Rookie Variations: Wander Franco, Jarren Duran, Oneil Cruz, Brandon Marsh and Shane Baz. These cards don’t replace the base versions. Rather, the variations are a bonus much like the Foilboard parallels in hobby sets.
There are often a handful of store-exclusive complete sets at places like Target and Walmart that have other bonuses.
Walmart Factory Sets
Sets sold at Walmart have multiple potential surprises. For starters, there are the regular retail exclusives. In addition to these is a pack of five foil parallels where each card is numbered to 875. The pattern on these is different to the hobby foils.
Every third set is a full Gold Stars parallel set. Collectors can find additional parallels sets numbered to 299 (Blue Stars), 99 (Orange Stars) and 1. The trick with these is that you don’t know until you open it.
Target Factory Sets
Target has complete sets that are almost like the normal retail version. However, these have an additional bonus, one Topps Chrome Rookie Variation. These are in addition to the usual five-pack.
All-Star Game Factory Sets
Every card in these sets are essentially parallels as every card has a special All-Star Game stamp. Five All-Star inserts are also in these sets.
582 Montgomery Club
From its inception, one of the perks of Topps’ 582 Montgomery Club is a special factory set. Later in the year, member will receive the 2022 edition. All of the base cards in these sets have a 582 Montgomery Club stamp, making them all parallels. While these have the Rodriguez, Witt and Torkelson variations as well, they don’t have the Montgomery stamp.

I believe all cards in the ASG set are indeed foil stamped again this year (per the pics folks have posted and, well, the packaging itself)…
What are they trying to do flip back time to late 80s/90s wax junk era . They flooded us with cards to the point there was no rear cards any more except some era cards that was high priced when stupid like me bought em instead of ripping and paid top dallor for em that a price that they will never reach or come close to. I Walmart was a treat if one found cards up to about two months ago now theres a whole shelf of everything plus new stuff I’m pray to the card God for thing not to be become a junk era too
