2020 Bowman's Best Baseball Checklist, Team Set Lists, Box Breakdown

While Chrome traditionally gets the most attention, Bowman’s Best has a lot of the same elements, only packaged and presented in a different way. For 2020 Bowman’s Best Baseball, autographs are more plentiful at the hobby level. So are Refractors. The same could be said for the colors and design elements.

Hobby boxes are once again divided into a pair of six-pack mini boxes. Every pack has a Refractor parallel and signatures combine to land four per master box.

The main base set is a small one with just 70 cards, mixing veterans and rookies.

However, this product falls under the Bowman banner. That means prospects are central to the checklist. They have their own separate set of 30 Top Prospects cards featuring young players at various stages of the MiLB journeys.

Chromium stock is the foundation of the design. Rather than the photo-based backgrounds of Bowman Chrome, Bowman’s Best takes more of a Topps Finest approach with lots of lines and modern design elements.

Base and Prospect Refractors combine to land one per pack while Atomic Refractors are one per box. Additional Refractor colors include Purple (/250), Blue (/150), Green (/99), Gold (/50), Orange (/25), Red (/10) and Superfractors (1/1).

Autographs and Inserts

Best of 2020 Autographs are the main spot to find ink in 2020 Bowman’s Best Baseball. Although prospects and draft picks are a big part of the checklist here, veterans and rookies are also in the mix. This is another way that Bowman’s Best differs from other Bowman sets.

Dual Autographs have signatures from a pair of players. Base versions are limited to 25 copies each while additional Atomic Refractors (/10) and Superfractors (1/1) are also available.

Additional Inserts

The checklist has a handful of additional inserts that mix new themes and ones from the brand’s past.

Franchise 2020 Die-Cuts (1:4 packs) is one of the places where the past is new again. Based on a 2000 Bowman’s Best insert, these mix background shine, an etched look and rounded corners for a striking look. Inverse Color parallels are 1:6 boxes. Gold Refractors (/50) and Superfractors (1/1) can also be found. Select cards also have autographs with their own Gold Refractors (/50), Atomic Refractors (/25) and Superfractors (1/1).

Decade’s Best (1:18) takes it back to 2012 Bowman for its design. More specifically, the 2012 Bowman International parallels and their flag backgrounds. A fan vote determined the look. Parallels include Atomic Refractors (1:2 cases), Gold Refractors (/50) and Superfractors (1/1). Some cards also have Autographs (/99) and Autograph Superfractors (1/1).

Heading back 20 years are 2000 Bowman’s Best Franchise Favorites (1:3), which make new cards from an old design. Besides Atomic Refractors, Gold Refractors (/50) and Superfractors (1/1) for the base versions, there are autographs as well. These have the same three levels of parallels as well.

Power Producers (1:6) takes a flashback approach to look back on the rookie seasons of veterans and retired players. Refractors include case-hit Atomic, Gold (/50) and Superfractors (1/1). Some also have autographs with separate one-of-one Superfractors (1/1).
