2020 Topps Gypsy Queen Baseball Variations Comprehensive Guide

2020 Topps Gypsy Queen Baseball variations come in three different themes, all of which revolve around special games with commemorative uniforms. Jackie Robinson Day, Players Weekend and Armed Forces Day jerseys and gear all get a starring role on the checklist. While all have a similar central theme, they come with different insertion rates and additional parallels.

Jackie Robinson Day Variations

The 2020 Topps Gypsy Queen Baseball Jackie Robinson Day Variations use photos from the annual April celebration where all players wear #42 in Robinson’s honor.

For many of these 20 variations, the jersey number is the easy giveaway. However, on some of the cards the back of the jersey isn’t visible or clear. In these instances, you have to look a little closer for things like #42 sleeve patches.

Besides the base versions, these have GQ Logo Swap (a gypsy icon logo in the top corner instead of the usual GQ logo) and one-of-one Black parallels. Select cards also have autographs.

Players Weekend Variations

Players Weekend is still relatively new for MLB. In late August players wear different uniforms with nicknames replacing the usual last names on the back. For 2019 MLB Players Weekend, jerseys were either black or white. The solid colors carried over to their batting helmets as well.

This bold change in color scheme makes the variations pretty easy to spot.

Like the Jackie Robinson Day Variations, these have GQ Logo Swap and Black parallels. 2020 Topps Gypsy Queen Players Weekend Variations are exclusive to hobby packs.

Armed Forces Day Variations

These are, by far, the toughest variations in 2020 Topps Gypsy Queen Baseball. They’re about ten times as rare as the other two themes. These might also be tougher to spot requiring collectors to look at smaller uniform pieces like wristbands and socks for camo markings.
