Cheap Wax Wednesday Box Breaks: 2013 Panini Select Baseball
2013 Panini Select Baseball is kind of an odd product. Pinnacle released a Select set every year from 1993-1997. Panini chose to resurrect the brand in 2013 but they wouldn’t release another Select Baseball set until 2020.
The set consists of a 250-card base set, the last 75 of which are autographed rookies. There are some really good names too, like Gerrit Cole, Manny Machado, Zack Wheeler, and Christian Yelich.
The stunners in this release, at least to me, are the Prizm parallels. Think Refractors in Topps lingo. Cards are available in Prizm, Gold Prizm and one-of-one Black Prizm.

Not a bad pitching duo to kick it off, huh? Verlander and Ryan have combined for 586 wins and 9,135 strikeouts (so far).
Also, those Gold Prizm En Fuego cards are tough to pull.

Lastly, the Darvish card back.
While none of the autographs are big names, I did well with the parallels thanks to the Trout and Jackson Prizms plus the Utley Gold Prizm. Those definitely made this a successful break. Even without logos, these are attractive cards.
