Graded: 2019 Bowman’s Best Autographs Superfractor #B19S0 Shohei Ohtani Mint 9
All sports card collectors open packs and boxes in hopes of landing that super rare card that is promised in every release. In 2019, Bowman released several variations of their 2019 Bowman’s Best Shohei Ohtani, but there is only one that is an autographed superfractor.
Bowman’s Best #33 Shohei Ohtani is the base card with parallels a plenty… Best Atomic Refractors, Best Blue Refractors (/150), Best Gold Refractors (/50), Best Green Refractors (/99), Best Orange Refractors (/25), Best Purple Refractors (/250), Best Red Refractors (/10), Best Refractors, and Best Superfractors. The Best Superfractors was a 1-of-1 release.
Bowman took the next step with the Superfractors adding an autograph. The pricing for this rare card is yet to be determined. 2018 Bowman Chrome Rookie Autographs Gold and Orange Ohtani cards can be sold at public auctions for $26,000-plus.
The 2019 Bowman’s Best Best of ’19 Autographs Superfractor #B19S0 Shohei Ohtani BGS Mint 9 is currently on auction with Goldin.
The Player Behind the Card
Ohtani began his professional career in 2013 in the NPB (Nippon Professional Baseball) with the Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Fighters at the age of 18. Before heading to the U.S. for Major League Baseball, Ohtani would be named a five-time NPB All-Star (2013-17).
In December of 2017, Ohtani signed with the Los Angeles Angels. Utilized as a two-way player, Ohtani would earn Rookie of the Year honors in 2018. His fantastic career includes being named a four-time MLB All-Star, three-time MVP (2021, 2023, 2024), and World Series champion (2024).
