2019 Topps Walmart Holiday Variations Guide and Gallery
The 2019 Topps Walmart Holiday variations go all-in with the set’s festive theme. If you’ve ever wanted MLB cards with snowmen making like President George W. Bush on the 2007 Topps Derek Jeter or dreamed of Albert Pujols in a Santa hat, the expansive SP and SSP checklist has them.
There are a lot cards on the 2019 Topps Walmart Holiday variations checklist — 100 to be exact. Many players have multiple variations. This is because of how they’re structured. Variations have three tiers. SP are the most common, landing 1:7 packs. So they’re fairly easy to pull with at least one per ten-pack blaster-style box. With 50 cards, this is the largest group of variations.

Next up are Rare variations, which are 1:20 packs. Finally, there are Super Rare Variations that land 1:161 packs, or right around 1:16 boxes. Rare and Super Rare variations both have 25 cards. All match up with players from the SP checklist.
For the most part, you should know pretty quick if you have one of the short prints. They add things like Christmas gifts, candy canes, strings of garland and other items that fit with the Walmart-exclusive set‘s holiday theme.
But even if you know you have a variation, being able to tell them apart is important given how tough some of them are to pull. There is a way to do so by flipping the card over.
Confirming Variations and What Type They Are
With so much going on with the 2019 Topps Walmart Holiday variations and multiple types, a simpler confirmation might be helpful. And there is one in the form of the codes on the back.
As usual for most Topps variations, you can direct your eyes to the fine print on the back. Specifically, go right to the end and the CMP code. This code changes depending on the card type. It’s not intended for collectors, but it is useful.
These are the code endings to know to separate base cards from variations:
- Base – 057
- SP – 063
- Rare – 064
- Super Rare – 065

Eh, they might be taking the holiday thing a little too far, but we’ll see. This is always a fun rip … I pulled a Manny Machado auto out of last year’s product.
I like them, adds a twist to the card
This used to be a good product.
Used to be.
It’s bad enough that Topps is ruining yet another product with SPs, but they are adding ridiculous looking Christmas stuff into the photos. I don’t mind the snowflake borders of past years, but I don’t need a Christmas tree (or similar) taking up more real estate on the card than the featured player (look at the Soto, Trout, Biggio, and Martinez cards for examples)… Or covering half of the player (like Lindor).
I say “Bah Humbug!”
Oh god , these are so stupid. I mean, just wow.
this is brilliant, should be very popular maybe best low end product of year
Absolutely awesome! Of course, I’m a Xmas nut anyway and love these. To those who say ‘bah humbug’, back at you! Have fun!
Is the Mookie Betts Base card and Super Rare the Same? It doesn’t look any different.
The difference is tough to tell but it’s the belt color. Base is reddish, Super Rare is black.
Pulled a mike trout auto
I don’t like them myself and I am not a Christmas guy but I do like SP’s. These are not the ones I would have chosen but It’s always fun to rip and pull one even if you don’t like them.
Let’s face it guys we all love to rip packs so have fun with it.
Nice product, Love the Christmas colors, love the garenteed relic!
I submitted a data correction – the checklist shows Gleyber Torres as a RC.
BTW…… I guess I didn’t realize that the Gleyber Torres difference was the big snowflakes. I thought it was the glasses.
I think these are pretty cool (different but cool). I pulled an Acuna auto 1 out of 10. That was pretty cool.
It has been fun searching for the different types.
Cheers
