1985 Donruss Action All-Stars Baseball Checklist and Details
1985 Donruss Action All-Stars Baseball cards offer a bigger-than-usual look at some of the game’s best mid-’80s players. It marks the third year and final year for the oversized line.
The checklist features 60 cards, which is larger than a lot of other oddball and side releases from the period. That’s not the only thing that’s big. The cards themselves measure 3.5″ by 5″. Similar to 1985 Donruss Baseball, borders are black. Taking advantage of the larger canvas, cards have two photos, an action shot in the background and a portrait in the foreground.

Cal Ripken Jr., Tony Gwynn, Nolan Ryan, George Brett and Reggie Jackson are among the top names. While Kirby Puckett and Roger Clemens are not on the checklist, Dwight Gooden is.
Five-card packs are done with plastic cello packaging. As a result both the top and bottom cards are clearly visible. Each pack also has three pieces to the Lou Gehrig puzzle that’s also available in the main 1985 Donruss Baseball set.
Similar to the other Donruss Action All-Stars Baseball sets that came before it, there isn’t a lot of value in these cards. That said, once you get past the non-traditional size, the design is one of the year’s best.
