It’s normally bubble gum that you think of when combining cards and candy. But for 1984 Topps Nestle Dream Team Baseball, chocolate was the sweet of choice.

1984 Topps Nestle Dream Team Baseball Eddie Murray

The set highlights the best from the American League and National League. The 22 main cards break down into an all-star team of sorts for both leagues — eight fielders and three pitchers each. The AL takes the front half of the set with the NL following. An unnumbered checklist is also available.

The checklist also has details on how collectors could send away for uncut 1984 Topps Nestle Baseball sheets, a set that’s different from this one.

Packaged with chocolate bars, each pack of 1984 Topps Nestle Dream Team Baseball has three cards plus a checklist.

Fronts have a distinct design with white borders and an inner frame that uses brown, yellow and orange. The Nestle logo is integrated into the brown part of the frame. Backs are almost the same as players’ 1984 Topps card other than the number and the chocolate company’s name replacing Topps’ logo. The only place Topps is mentioned is in the copyright.
