In modern collecting, there is a commonly asked question from both new and experienced collectors: “What parallel is this?” To help answer that question as Topps returns to the basketball card industry for the first time since 2009, we have created this guide and image gallery for 2025-26 Topps Basketball parallels.
Parallels have become the name of the game for modern manufacturers, but the names of those sets aren’t always immediately clear when looking at the cards — especially when a collector is new to a company’s product portfolio.
The 2025-26 Topps Basketball set has dozens of parallels, as well as several variations, which are discussed in this article. Some parallel concepts, such as Gold (/2025) and Black (/68) are easy to discern by the serial-numbering and colored borders, but if you’ve never seen a Diamante card before, you may ask yourself: “What am I looking at here?”
And what’s the difference between Holo Foil and Rainbow Foil anyway? This guide will answer those questions and more.

Are Surge and Flash Drop supposed to be placed in the wrong positions? “Drop” means to fall or descend.
This article is super helpful for new collector like me that have a difficult time identifying each parallel and insert. Not sure if you guys have one of these for each set, but it’s really good.
