2025-26 Topps Holiday Basketball Variations Guide

2025-26 Topps Holiday Basketball Variations Codes and How to Use Them
Want another way to spot one of the 2025-26 Topps Holiday variations besides the added elements on the front or the design of the card back? The codes in the fine print on the card backs can tell you what you have. To check, simply look at the last three digits of the CMP code at the bottom of a card’s flip side. When it comes to variations, the three digits to know are:
- Base Set — 997
- Image Variations — 039
- Back Variations — 040
- Hidden Elf — 042

2025-26 Topps Holiday Basketball – Image Variations
Unlike in the Topps Holiday Baseball set where holiday hats, candy canes, and other graphics are added onto an existing image, the Topps Holiday Basketball image variations only add subtle hints in the card’s design — plus one big giveaway on the flip side.

As you can see, the main distinction on the front of the card is a pile of snow in the bottom right corner, though there is also more frost around the edges of the player photo.
On the back, however, is the best giveaway — a different card number that tells you that you have an SP.

Image variations have pack odds of 1:23, so they aren’t the easiest to pull from 10-pack mega boxes. Below is the 25-card checklist.
- SSV-AE James Harden, Los Angeles Clippers
- SSV-AT Kyrie Irving, Dallas Mavericks
- SSV-CB Carter Bryant, San Antonio Spurs
- SSV-CC Donovan Mitchell, Cleveland Cavaliers

2025-26 Topps Holiday Basketball – Back Variations
Also easy to spot are the Topps Holiday back variations, which feature a star-shaped holiday cookie with snowflake icing on the flip side where a team’s logo normally appears. Design accents at the top of the card change to a red color with candy cane trim. Meanwhile, background colors in the statistics are changed to red and green, and the two separators at the top and bottom of a player’s biography appear in red instead of team colors.

Just like the image variations, the back variations also have different card numbers, helping collectors quickly understand they have something that is not a base card.
Back variations also have pack odds of 1:23, so they likewise aren’t the easiest to pull from 10-pack mega boxes. Below is the 25-card checklist.
