2019 Panini NBA Player of the Day Promo Set Returns to Hobby Shops
Hobby shops is where collectors will find the 2019 Panini NBA Player of the Day promotion. And with it comes exclusive cards and other prizes — including the chance to hang out with an NBA player.
2019 Panini NBA Player of the Day – How to Participate
If you go to a participating card shop, they’ll have a poster that has a corresponding player for that given day. Collectors who open up a pack of Panini products and pull a card of that day’s player get a prize on the spot. Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving and Trae Young are all “wild cards” and count as winners every day for the duration of the promotion.
Daily winners are entered into a weekly store draw.
Each shop also picks another winner who will be entered into the grand prize draw, which is good for the day with a player. Over the past few years participating athletes have included Karl-Anthony Towns, Aaron Holiday and Shaquille O’Neal. Winners at the store level get an autograph card.
Several national runner-ups receive exclusive autograph cards from either Kobe Bryant, Grant Hill, Kyrie Irving, Alan Iverson, Damian Lillard or Tracy McGrady. These are each numbered to two.
2019 Panini NBA Player of the Day Card Set
Among the prizes in the 2019 NBA Player of the Day promotion is an exclusive promo card set. The checklist highlights veterans, rookies and a handful of retired legends.
It starts with a 30-card base set, consisting almost entirely of current stars.
These have four levels of parallels: Checker Board (/20), Rapture (/10), Explosion (/5) and HyperPlaid (1/1).
Seven NBA Legends have similar cards in a separate insert set. Kobe Bryant does, too, with a three-card set of his own. These have similar parallels as the base set, only with different quantities: Checker Board (/30), Rapture (/20), Explosion (/10) and HyperPlaid (1/1).
Rookies get the spotlight in a 20-card insert set. These have the same parallels as the NBA Legends and Kobe Bryant cards.
Memorabilia cards are randomly inserted in 2019 Panini NBA Player of the Day packs. Players on the 40-card checklist are primarily rookies, although a few other young standouts are also mixed in.
