2024 Lids x Topps Player Chase Series 1 combines caps and baseball cards along with the rush that comes from opening a pack or two. Created as a limited edition mystery box for Fanatics Fest NYCC, each one comes with three exclusive caps and a pack of three special Topps Chrome cards.

2024 Lids x Topps Player Chase Series 1 – The Cards

The baseball card portion of the checklist has 50 cards. Drawing from a variety of past Topps flagship designs, there’s an Archives vibe to it. Done on Chrome stock, there’s also a modern twist.

Featured designs are:

  • 1957
  • 1962
  • 1970
  • 1986
  • 1996
  • 2003
  • 2024

It’s all current players including several rookies like Jackson Holliday, Elly De La Cruz and Shota Imanaga.

Parallels numbered to 99 and under are also randomly inserted.

Nineteen players also have autographs limited to 10 copies each.

2024 Lids x Topps Player Chase Series 1 – The Hats

Like the cards, the product’s caps use several different designs. Some are directly inspired by Topps Baseball designs while others, not so much — at least at a glance.

Taking beats from the modern card hobby, each design has different production runs. Player Art Pro Pinch, which have a patch inspired by a Topps card embroidered on the side, are the most common with 840 caps per player.

Most others range from a high of 336 down to 72. That said, there are also one-of-a-kind MLB Topps 2.0 Player Jersey Pro Pinch hats made from an official Mitchell & Ness jersey. These aren’t game-used or even player-worn, but each is unique.

All told, there are 70 caps in the entire collection across all designs.

There’s also a scratch-and-win component in boxes with a variety of prizes like World Series tickets.

Over 4,000 2024 Lids x Topps Player Chase Series 1 Baseball mystery boxes were made. Each carried a $250 price tag at the show.

This isn’t the first time that Topps and Lids have collaborated (and it likely won’t be the last now that both companies are owned by Fanatics). The most recent came in 2023 with another series of hats that were sold at Lids stores with the cards acting as an added incentive.

So no caps for the bay area teams? Got it, since they need to make room for all those Yankees players.
