2025 Topps Series 1 Baseball Variations Guide
The 2025 Topps Series 1 Baseball variations lineup covers a few areas. Alternate images play a big role on this part of the flagship checklist. However, there’s a new theme that takes a numerical approach instead.
2025 Topps Series 1 Baseball Variations Overview
Here’s a quick look at three types of 2025 Topps Series 1 Baseball variations and what to watch for when busting packs:
- Golden Mirror Image
- Dancing Dodgers
- Player Number
Golden Mirror Image Variations
Now in their third year, Golden Mirror Image Variations have become a flagship cornerstone. All 350 cards in the base set have one of these with each using a different photo. There are lots of fun shots on these.

Topps makes these fairly easy to spot. For starters, their logo on the front is in gold foil instead of the usual silver. Backs are even more obvious with a gold background.

With tough odds and the sheer number of different cards, these are a challenge. They command strong values in part because of rarity but they’re also a lot of fun, even for a set that has a lot of great photography to begin with.
2025 Topps Series 1 Golden Mirror Image Variations are available in all pack and box types. They’re 1:599 hobby, 1:148 jumbo and 1:778 blaster packs. Other configurations have them at similar rates depending on the type and pack size.
These will also continue in 2025 Topps Series 2 and Update Series.

Dancing Dodgers Variations
The Los Angeles Dodgers had a lot of fun on the field in 2024 — and it wasn’t just winning the World Series or witnessing firsthand Shohei Ohtani’s historic 50/50 season. The Dodgers danced.
What started in celebration has become its own set of SSP variations in 2025 Topps Series 1. They look like standard cards, only the photos have them busting moves.

It’s worth noting that Teoscar Hernádez’s regular base card shows him in what appears to be mid dance celebration. While he does have one of the variations, this is just his regular card. Needless to say it has caused some confusion on eBay as people think its an SSP because it fits with the theme. Hernández’s actual Dancing Dodgers card has a more close-up shot and is flipped horizontally.

In case you’re wondering if you have one of the Dancing Dodgers Variations, you can use the codes on the back. Regular base cards end in 547. Dancing Dodgers Variations end in 713.

Odds on these have not been announced but they are hobby-exclusives.
Here’s a checklist of the 10 2025 Topps Series 1 Dancing Dodgers Variations (click on the links to see what’s on eBay).
1 Shohei Ohtani, Los Angeles Dodgers
53 Chris Taylor, Los Angeles Dodgers
146 Mookie Betts, Los Angeles Dodgers
176 Teoscar Hernández, Los Angeles Dodgers
201 Kiké Hernández, Los Angeles Dodgers
204 Gavin Lux, Los Angeles Dodgers
212 Will Smith, Los Angeles Dodgers
214 Tommy Edman, Los Angeles Dodgers
231 Max Muncy, Los Angeles Dodgers
239 Freddie Freeman, Los Angeles Dodgers
Player Number Variations
Player Number Variations are new in 2025 Topps Series 1 Baseball. The name is appropriate given that the player’s jersey number runs throughout the background of the card.

These have another twist, though. Each is serial-numbered to said jersey number. This means different print runs for the 25 featured cards. They range from a high of 99 copies for Aaron Judge to just two for Gunnar Henderson.
Odds are not known but with less than 800 total across all 25 cards, they’re not easy. Like the Dancing Dodgers, these are only in hobby packs.

Awesome, awesome, awesome. ???
So jumbo boxes don’t have some of these inserts? Just hobby boxes?
I have a card that I cannot fiind anywhere with a example. It is covered with small dots. I have tried mini diamonds, silver dots, silver mojo, and so many more to no avail. The card is a 2025 Topps series one, colton cowser card no. 230. I need help. I have looked at ebay, internet, and so on.
Thanks
@Ron – check out the sandglitter cards
@Ron, There are new “Sandglitter” parallels, maybe it’s one of those??
I went to Target tonight and bought 2 packs of Topps Series 1. The 2nd pack had Golden Mirror Image Variation card 79 (Judge/Santander/ Soto)
Is there any where that I can find an example of all of these variations? Its fun to collect, especially for my kids, but there are so many! I have cards that could be described as “reflective,” “chrome,” “platinum,” or “silver.” How can I tell which one it actually is?
