2023 Topps Chrome Sapphire Update Baseball adds some blue bling to the previously released 2023 Topps Update Series. The checklist is much more simplified outside of the base set, but the release comes with a more premium configuration and limited availability.
Each hobby box has an autograph plus three parallels.
2023 Topps Chrome Sapphire Update Baseball Checklist Overview
The base set mirrors the 330 cards found in 2023 Topps Update. That means lots of rookies and veterans who spent the season with new teams. There’s also the Rookie Debut subset that highlights players’ first games.
The difference here is the chrome-style stock and blue shard background synonymous with Sapphire releases.
Parallels include:
- Gold Sapphire – /50
- Orange Sapphire – /25
- Black Sapphire – /10
- Red Sapphire – /5
Each card should also have either a one-of-one Padpardascha or Superfractor version as well.
Most of the autographs maintain the base design. These feature more than 31 rookies. Standard versions have 199 copies with additional Green Sapphire (/99), Gold Sapphire (/50), Orange Sapphire (/25), Black Sapphire (/10), Red Sapphire (/5) and Padpardascha (1/1) parallels.
The only other inserts in 2023 Topps Chrome Sapphire Update Baseball fall under the Sapphire Selections banner. Consisting of 25 cards, these are fairly tough at 1:80 packs. A handful of these also have autographs.
