2023 Topps Holiday Baseball Variations Guide
The 2023 Topps Holiday Baseball variations are bringing gifts — and candy canes, snowmen, Santa hats and more. As has been the case for the past couple of years, the checklist runs deep, offering a mix of short prints, rare and super rare cards.
The variations all add to the festive spirit of the release. But instead of simply having snow in the background and adjusted borders, these incorporate other holiday elements into the photos. Bat are made into candy canes, caps become Santa hats and so forth.
Short prints, which are the most common at 1:7 packs, also have the largest list of players with 50. Twenty-five of these players also have both Rare (1:20 packs) and Super Rare (1:161 packs) Variations.
Spotting 2023 Topps Holiday Baseball Variations
For the most part, variations are actually pretty easy to notice. Santa hats and presents have a habit of doing that. More difficult is determining whether it’s an SP, Rare or Super Rare card. For that, the codes on the back offer up the easiest solution outside of comparing images.
At the end of the copyright notice is a CMP code, the ending of which changes for different cards. For 2023 Topps Holiday Baseball and its 100 variations, these are the four codes you need:
- Base Cards- 510
- Short Print Variations – 514
- Rare Variations – 515
- Super Rare Variations – 516

So what variation is 506? 506 that look like base 510 that look like sp,514 that have rare picture and 515 as ultra rare pictures? Any ideas
The codes needed for identifying variations in this set are listed.
I wonder why there is a code 506? Very weird, anyone else come across these cards?
506? Are they the same as 510?
What are 110? Lol
Ryan, did you not even read the persons comment before replying? There is no 506 in the listing at the top.
I got 506 too
Also a couple 510
³3I’m confused aswell?
Half the cards in every pack end in 506. I came here to find out what that meant and it means…nothing?
I’ve got both 506 and 510’s
I also have 506 and 510 base
So I guess we have no answer for the difference in 506 versus 510?? other than when you open a pack one half is 506 the other half is 510.
The Grayson Rodriguez SP description is not correct. He is wearing a Santa hat however if you’ll look at his foot, he’s wearing an ice skate
Which would make it ice not snow.
Sure. We could also get very literal and note that with the snow coming down, there’d be snow on the ice. The picture is there and the hat is probably the easiest giveaway.
506 is the rookies.
I’ve got a taylor ward that’s labeled a 506 and he’s obviously not a rookie
506 Is for rookies
