2025-26 Basketball Cards: What’s In Store
Topps has taken over the exclusive licensing rights to produce NBA cards for the 2025-26 calendar year and and beyond. This means, no other company can produce cards featuring team logos or team names, but other manufacturers can still release cards through agreements with the NBA Players Association.
A wrinkle within the licensing is that some athletes sign exclusive autographs agreements with manufacturers. For example, Victor Wembanyama has an exclusive autograph deal with Fanatics, so collectors could not find a licensed autograph card of him before this year. Likewise, Luka Doncic has an exclusive trading card deal with Panini and does not appear on the checklist for the 2025-26 Topps flagship set.
Panini maintains the rights to produce WNBA cards, while both Topps and Panini have deals to manufacture NCAA sets.
